Hey there! It's not meant to be misleading. It's an issue with how the sale is portrayed by the itch system. I want to give people 50% off the game, BUT since the game is bought in "layers", itch only show the first layer of sale. It's kind of weird. I'm thinking of a solution in the future. Sorry for any issues it caused you.
There I found a way of removing the issue. Sorry again for that, but at least it won't be an issue for future customers. Send me your email with a proof it's you at admin@aeonstarinteractive.com and I'll send a little something your way as a compensation.
I aboslutely loved playing this game, good challenge, I had to slow down the emulator to fight the bosses, unfortunately I didn't put my anxiety to peak level when going through boss battles. I know there were patterns to fight them, but again, UH UH. Thank you for the game, hopefully you make a sequel or prequel to the game. Thanks again!
We're working on the next NES game in parallel to our PC game (Feoderatus). It's not going to be a prequel or sequel to Steel Legion, but it's very much in the same "type": a tight metroidvania with a high but fair difficulty in combat. Next one will have some RPG elements! We'll keep it secret a bit for now since it's second priority, but I'm sure you'll like it.
it was incredibly good. Very difficult too but i envoyer so much. I even found it too short but i haven't find every shield and tank , so the game continue.
For your next game, do you do another metroidvania? Or do you Will try visual novel? Like métal slader glory?
Thanks a lot for playing! Happy you liked it. I understand what you mean about the size of it, but NES is very limited, especially with all the animations, sprites, etc. that makes up for the game's quality. We'll try to get better at optimizing to have more content!
We'll be announcing really soon our next game. It will be a different kind of game, a retro PC game with 8-bits pixel art. However, we are also prototyping our next NES game too! Subscribe to our newsletter to get all these news: https://aeonstarinteractive.substack.com/
I just played through the demo! Amazing job, i really loved it.
Question: when i jump into a roof, my x-velocity gets zeroed out (kind of like I'm getting stuck for a moment). Any chance that was fixed in the final version (digital or physical)?
Unfortunately, we only were able to fix the issue after the ROM went out. Our future games will be fixed on that point, and we'll try to think of a way to fix it for Steel Legion (next batch of cartridges maybe?). The update with a few minor fixes for the final ROM should come to itch soon.
Technically excellent, but unfortunately very difficult game with awesome graphics for this system. Our German-language review can be found in our recorded livestream starting at 01:43:24. English subtitles are also available. Subscription to our YouTube and Twitch channel is welcome. 🙂
Horizontally, the map is pretty accurate. But vertically, the map has been stretched out a bit. One in game screen can count as 2 or sometime 3 squares on the map (vertically)
I hope you guys don't mind, I got you up on the IGDB (Internet Games Database) so people can officially add Steel Legion as their "Now Playing" game on Twitch
No prob - I registered an account on there just to do it. Was a fun scavenger hunt of finding resources and info for the game, and then finding stuff about Aeon & Star Interactive so I could get your company in there too. Feel free to add to what I have, or let me know what you want added and I can throw it in. I think everything I have up there is copy/pasted from here and the main Aeon & Star website.
I tried to play the full version rom with Delta emulator, and it fails to load. Submitted a bug report with Delta, and someone looked at it and said the problem appears to be a bad header. Can you fix, please?
Hi, this screenshot is from the demo, not the final game. But they both were tested and confirmed to work on the latest version of Mesen emulator. They were also both tested and working on the original North American Nes ntsc and european pal nes. The game use flash save technology for saving and that is not suported by all emulator (it works on the latest version of Mesen) it is also not suported by everdrive cart. The game will play on everdrive but not save. The physical release of the game (available soon on Broke studio online store) works on original nes console and does save.
The game was designed around the nes mapper 30 and from what I understand (I could be wrong) does not support traditionnal battery save, only self flashing save. Which means that if the emulator does not support flash save, in game saving will never work on this emulator until they release an update that support self flashing save. Sorry. We will update the itch page to make this more clear.
I bought this game on kickstarter. it's awesome. I try the digital version on my recallbox. I have just a little problem, the save in game doesn't work. I am force to use save stat.
I have found the plasma projectile. teleport myself on the train area to save . and when I launch again the game, I load the game but my character doesn't got the plasma projectile or the "better range shoot" anymore.
Same thing happening to me. Using OpenEmu on Mac. (Was still able to beat the game using save states where I would usually save in game, it’s fantastic.)

Where do I go after getting the two rocket launcher power-ups? I feel like I've visited every area, but can't seem to find a new area or ability to progress further.
Am I supposed to be able to defeat that boss robot at some point? I also saw a possible door that requires a higher jump, as well as small paths that I guess require you to shrink. Not sure.
Thanks for the gameplay video and we're glad you liked the demo! Stay tuned for the game release and join us on Discord or subscribe to our newsletter not to miss anything!

Thanks a lot! Happy you enjoyed the game.
Not sure if the map that came with the game is a rough approximation if the game map, if I just really suck with maps, or both 😂
The map is pretty accurante, although it does work with screens which can be a bit tricky to see in the game where does the screen end and start.
As for your skill in using them, that's something else :P

Wow thanks a lot! I completely forgot about that. You sir deserve a very high five.

I will try the physical version tomorrow, but, does the rom will work on nestopia in future? About save in game, without using save stat.

great! Thank you! I've passed along these details to the Delta emulator devs.

on my side i use nestopia. But the game is fantastic, i enjoy it à lot.

Or is this as far as the demo goes? :)
Hey there! Thanks for playing and for the kind words.
If you mean the first boss to the right, then yes! You need to find the grenade launcher also to break down some walls. Have you found that?
